Shalabh

The Tons is the last river in the Himalayas that drains west into the Bay of Bengal .The next valley belongs to a seperate system of rivers that drain west into the Arabian Sea.

The Tons has three major upper tribs above Netwar called the Rupin , Supin and Har ki doon, sounds that all of them are run-able and have trekking trails/roads in close proximity. Below Mori the Pabbar River flows in just above the town if Tiuni and almost doubles the volume.

The Tons has a alpine nature with many long technical rapids Class IV (+) in its upper sections above the town of Mori that has a Class III rafting trip.

The lower Tons exits the mountains close to the town of Dehradun and has a dam at Minus in its lower section. There is a easy gorge section above the dam and a good Class IV section below Mori till the confluence with the Pabbar.
