The Pindar is also a tributary of the Alaknanda
and flows into it at the pilgrim town of Karnprayag. There is
a road up the Pindar Valley that allows a easy put in at Tharali
before the road leaves the river and heads on towards Kumaon.
The section below Tharali has been rated from Class IV to V
depending upon the time of the year its been paddled and like
all the other Himalayan rivers is generally always harder with
more water.
