The Mahakali is the border between the Indian
state of Kumaon and Eastern Nepal. It is famous for its Mahseer
fishing, lovely beaches and play waves. If youre looking for
a relaxed 4-5 day river trip through lush forest this is a highly
recommended trip.
Access to the river from Delhi is by overnight
train till Kathgodam followed by a drive to Pitthoragarh in
the Kumaon Hills. There are some intersesting tributaries that
can be paddled while visiting the Mahakali.
